AREAS OF COUNTRYSIDE TO VISIT

Please note, access to some parts of Purbeck is over the army ranges and these are shut at certain times, though not usually in the summer holiday period. Look out for boards at the roadside, or check the County Council website for a full list of opening times.

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS – LOCAL (Charged)

Monkey World – Renowned sanctuary for all types of primates. (5 miles away)

Tank Museum – Exciting display of national and international tanks (6 miles away)       

Lulworth Castle –  Set in its own beautiful grounds (5 miles away)

Sculpture by the Lakes – a 26 acre park devoted to displaying works of art in a natural setting. Over 14s only and no dogs. No cafe but you can take your own picnic.

These are not just walks – they are an adventure – for adults, youngsters, and families alike.  Each walk is a wonderland of astonshing beauty.  You will be thrilled and humbled as you roam the footpaths and the scenery unfolds before you.

For something more challenging and the ultimate in coastal views, head to Lulworth Cove and pick up the South West Coast Path.
