Including Five Mary’s, Riverside Walks, and The Heaths
A leaflet giving full details of this walk is available from Winfrith Shop and Post Office.
The trail, covering some 7 miles, has been waymarked with distinctive Sycamore leaf discs on fingerposts to make it easier to follow. Much of the trail is easy walking over flat terrain, though some sections may be muddy during wet weather. Always wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the season.
The leaflet gives some information about local points of interest and some historical information on the three villages.
This walk, originally conceived in the 1970’s as a walk around Winfrith, has now been extended to take in two more villages – East Knighton and East Chaldon – and is now also known as the Three Villages Trail.
The trail can be started from the Countryman Inn car park at East Knighton or the Sailor’s Return pub car park at East Chaldon.
